Unforgettable Night for Brown, T and C Motorsports

RURAL HALL, N.C. (September 9, 2010) – An array of emotions filled victory lane on Saturday night at Langley Speedway as Tim Brown, driver of the No. 02 T and C Motorsports modified, brought home the first NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour win for car owners, Tommy and Connie Lythgoe, in the Visit Hampton 150.

The win was Brown’s sixth career victory with the NWSMT series and the first victory since he won at Caraway Speedway in September of 2008.

The first place finish moved the Cana, Va. native up one position to 10th in the point standings, 30 markers behind the No. 44 of Brandon Hire in ninth.

The power behind the No. 02 car was on display in both practices on Saturday afternoon. Brown was third on the charts in final practice, later, clinching 5th fastest in qualifying after touring the .4 mile track in 15.965 seconds at a speed of 90.831 mph. After the redraw for the top eight starting positions, Brown was set to roll off of the starting grid in second, on the outside of the No. 4 of Jason Myers.

The fans were on their feet to greet the starting line up shortly after 7:40 p.m. As the 15-car field came around to the green flag, Brown wasted no time clinching the lead. By the events first yellow flag on lap-6, he had lost the lead and had taken over second position. Over the following 50 circuits, Brown began to fall back through the field before closing in on fifth; however, he had a plan in place which would later pay off for him. Regaining fourth position on lap-61, Brown slowly began to make his way back up through the field.

As the laps ticked by, Brown slowly crept back up through the field and had grasped second once again by lap-91. Over the last portion of the 150 lap event, Brown began to gain ground on the leader. Side-by-side with the No. 79 of James Civali for the lead with 20 laps to go, Brown finally won the battle and held the rest of the field off during the closing laps. Anticipation took over the No. 02 crew before relief and excitement were sought as Brown crossed the checkered, taking the win.

“I am so proud to have given Tom and Connie their first tour win. I want to personally thank them for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. It was a great experience at Langley, and I look forward to racing there again in the future. I would like Allie to know that we are thinking about her and wish her well, and we hope she enjoys the trophy. Thanks to all the fans and the race track for their wonderful hospitality.” stated Brown.

Proud car owners, Tom and Connie, were overwhelmed with excitement, "Tim drove a perfect race, taking care of the car and having something at the end of the race. He is so smart. We are very fortunate to have him drive the #02." they stated.

Brown and the T and C Motorsports crew were relieved to see their luck make such a turn. They will head to Tri-County Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 25, with hopes of landing the pole and their second win of the season!

Tim Brown Claims 4th Victory of the Season

RURAL HALL, N.C. (August 20, 2010) – “The Rocket” Tim Brown was able to overcome some of the bad luck that he and the Brown Motorsports crew have had lately with a win in the first 25 lap event, followed by a 10th place finish in the second 25 lap event at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night.

The Cana, Va. Native maintained 4th in the point standings, 12 points behind the No. 77 of Lee Jeffreys in 3rd position.

The Rocket proved to be just that, a rocket, in both evening practices. Later, he captured a second place starting position after posting a time of 13.326 seconds in qualifying.

Hot and humid temperatures greeted the starting line up shortly after 8:45 p.m. Brown started on the outside of the No. 77 of Lee Jeffreys on the front row. As the field came around to the green flag, Brown wasted no time clinching the lead. He was able to maintain the lead through the 25 lap event which only had two cautions. Coming to the checkered on lap 25 in the lead, he collected his fourth victory of the season.

Following The Rocket’s win, he drew 12th in the Madhouse scramble. As the green was waved, Brown immediately began trying to make his way through the field. He quickly made his way up to the 10th position by the fourth circuit. Maintaining 10th throughout the remainder of the race which aided no cautions, he crossed the checkered in 10th place on lap 25.

“I am proud of my team and the performance of the Hayes Jewelers modified. We were able to win for the fourth time this season in front of a packed house at BGS. Still not the season we were hoping for, but the performance is still there. We will try to finish with yet another win in the season finale. It’s a shame we didn’t have the chance for our ninth championship due to all the misfortune this season, but we will be back next season ready to try again.” stated Brown.

With only one race remaining in the season, Brown and his crew are focused on ending the 2010 season on a high note with another pole and win in the Carolina Farm Credit 150! Don’t miss this double points season finale at the Madhouse this Saturday, August 21!

Brown Pairs with T and C Motorsports for the Remainder of the 2010 NWSMT season

Tim Brown will drive the No. 02 T and C Motorsports modified, owned by Tommy and Connie Lythgoe, for the remaining 2010 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour races.

Brown, better known as “The Rocket”, made his debut in the No. 02 modified in the NWSMT race at Bowman Gray Stadium last Saturday, August 7th. After starting in the 9th position, a cut right front tire early in the race sent him into the wall and put them nearly 100 laps down. The car had the potential of being a top 3 finisher, however, he crossed the checkered in 15th place.

The No. 02 T and C Motorsports team and Brown head to Bristol Motor Speedway for the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 this Wednesday, August 18th. The race will air live on SPEED at 6:00 p.m.

“When we decided that we needed a driver for the No. 02 car, Tim was our first choice. We had already talked to his brother, Ben, a few times about the possibility of Tim being in the car. Buddy wasn’t going to be able to race the rest of the season due to work and it just worked out well to put Tim in the car. We are tickled that he is able to drive it. The whole crew has worked out great; they have been to my house twice already to work on the car and everything has come together very well.” stated Tommy Lythgoe. “Connie and I have asked Tim to race the rest of the season for us, and at the end of the year if we are all pleased with the results, then we will discuss next season.”

There are five races remaining in the 2010 season and Brown is currently 11th in points, a mere 19 points behind the No. 31 of Gene Pack.

“I want to thank Tommy and Connie, and the entire T and C Motorsports crew for the opportunity to race the No. 02 car for the remainder of the 2010 season. They have been great to work with and I look forward to what the rest of the season holds for our partnership.” stated Brown.

Don’t miss the racing action as the modifieds head to Thunder Valley this Wednesday, August 18th!

Tire Issue Sidelines Brown, T and C Motorsports Team in the Strutmasters.com 199

RURAL HALL, N.C. (August 10, 2010) – Tim Brown, a Cana, Va. native, made his debut in the No. 02 T and C Motorsports modified in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour which made its stop at the infamous “Madhouse” this past Saturday. The modified piloted by Brown had the potential of being a top three finisher until a cut right front tire early in the race sent him into the wall, damaging the car. He returned to the track nearly 100 laps down, and collected a 15th place finish.

Brown currently sits in 11th in the NWSMT point standings, a mere 19 points behind the No. 31 of Gene Pack in 10th position.

Brown and the T and C Motorsports team made several adjustments to the No. 02 car throughout practices on Friday and Saturday evening. Brown qualified eighth after posting a time of 13.717 seconds, and drew ninth for his starting position in the top 10 redraw.

Fans were on their feet to greet the starting line up as the teams pushed the modifieds out on the track. As the field came around to the green flag, it quickly became clear that Brown had a very strong car. Over the opening 25 circuits, he wasted no time making his way up to the seventh position. However, only a few circuits later, things made a turn for the worse.

As Brown made his way down the back stretch on lap 31, a cut right front tire sent him into the wall between turns 3 and 4, damaging the No. 02 modified. Able to drive the modified into the pits, Brown parked it and the crew worked diligently over the following 95 laps to get the car repaired and back out on track. The Rocket piloted returned to the track on lap 126, and crossed the checkered flag in 15th position on lap 199.

“This is definitely not the results that I had hoped to give the T and C Motorsports Team in our first outing together. We had a very good race car and unfortunately some debris cut the right front tire down. We made progress on the car and worked well together as a new team and I look for good things to come from this new relationship. I am excited that Tom and Connie have given me this opportunity to drive for them in the remaining races for 2010.” stated Brown.

Aside from the less-than-desired results of the night, the T and C Motorsports crew stayed focused on fixing the car and getting the best finish possible. The Rocket will pilot the No. 02 modified in the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 at Bristol Motor Speedway next Wednesday, August 18th. It will air live on Speed at 6:00 p.m., don’t miss it!

Potential Top 5 Finish Spoiled for Brown

RURAL HALL, N.C. (August 10, 2010) – Tim Brown, driver of the No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified, has had his share of bad luck this season. Misfortune continued and landed Brown a 20th place finish in the 50 lap event at Bowman Gray this past Friday.

The less-than-desired results dropped Brown two positions to fourth in the point standings, 12 points behind the No. 77 of Lee Jeffreys in third.

Brown proved how very strong his Rahmoc power was in both evening practices. After touring the famed quarter mile in 13.267 seconds, he claimed third fastest. A redraw for the top 6 landed him a fifth place starting position for the night’s 50 lap event.

Hot and humid temperatures greeted the starting line up shortly after 10:00 p.m. Soon after the drop of the green flag, Brown was quickly battling for the fourth position. He was able to clinch fourth place and maintained it through several cautions over the opening 20 circuits.

As the field came around to take the fourth restart of the event, Brown chose to take the outside row and found himself quickly losing positions as there was no where to go on the inside row. After battling for positions over the next few circuits, he was able to close in on sixth. With only 15 laps to go in the race, The Rocket felt he had a car that was capable of gaining back positions, however, damage on the car caused him to suffer a DNF (Did not finish). He collected an unsatisfying 20th place finish.

“I am very disappointed in the 20th place finish that we suffered in Friday nights 50 lapper. However I am still proud of my race team and all of my fans for their continued support of me and the tough season that we have had. It is not what we work so hard all year to do, and feel as if we are much better than the results from 2010 race season. I am upbeat and positive about taking the good with the bad in racing, and we sure have had it bad here lately. I plan to keep digging to put the blue 83 Hayes Jewelers Corvette back in victory lane again soon.” stated Brown.

Although this season has been far from what Brown had hoped for, he will return to the Madhouse for the remaining two races of the season with one goal in mind: to sit on the pole and win! Don’t miss the twin 25 lap events this Saturday, August 14!

The Rocket to Pilot the No. 02 at BGS and Bristol for NWSMT Races

Tim Brown, better known as “The Rocket”, has pondered whether any more of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour races would be in his remaining schedule for 2010 or not. As of today, he is proud to announce that he will be partnering up with T and C Motorsports to race the No. 02 car in the NWSMT races to be held at Bowman Gray Stadium on August 6th, and at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 18th.

Brown raced in the three NWSMT races that were held prior to the beginning of the 2010 Bowman Gray Stadium season. He did not attend the last NWSMT race, which was held at Caraway Speedway in July. It was uncertain whether he would be able to race in any more of the NWSMT races this season, until he was offered a ride in the No. 02 car. The remainder of the races that are scheduled for the tour, following the race at Bristol Motor Speedway, are being discussed at this point.

“I want to thank Tom and Ryan from T and C Motorsports for giving me the opportunity to drive for them at Bowman Gray Stadium and Bristol Motor Speedway. I feel confident that we can run well together and hopefully contend for some wins right out of the box. I am looking forward to this chance to drive the 02 car for some races in the remainder of 2010.” stated an optimistic Brown.

The NWSMT races at Bowman Gray Stadium and Bristol Motor Speedway will be televised at later dates.

Brown Finishes 10th, 4th under the Full Moon

Although 10th and 4th place finishes were not what Tim Brown and the Brown Motorsports crew were hoping for Saturday night at the Madhouse, they were able to maintain the second position in the point standings. With four races left in the 2010 season, he sits 61 markers behind point leader, Burt Myers.

The Cana, V.A. native and No. 83 team were very positive about the evening after turning quick times in both practices. Brown landed a fourth place starting position for the first 50 lap event after touring the quarter mile in 13.459 seconds.

The full moon was in full effect for the night’s first 50 lap event. As the field came around to the green, Brown quickly found himself fighting for positions on the outside line and was able to close in on sixth by the third circuit. The first of many caution flags was displayed on lap 7. Choosing whether to stay on the inside line, or going to the outside on the restarts was much like rolling a dice. The Rocket raced between fourth and sixth over the first 25 circuits, before bad luck struck. He began to fight a very ill handling car and radioed to his crew that it was very loose before ending up with a cut right front tire. He pulled the No. 83 into the pits for a tire change and to make adjustments on the car under caution, and returned to the rear of the field before they came around to the green. Over the closing circuits, he was able to make his way back up through the field and crossed the checkered in 10th position.

Brown was set to start 10th for the second 50 lap event after 8th was drawn in the Madhouse Scramble. The fans were on the feet to greet the line up once again shortly before 10:30 p.m. Brown wasted no time making his way through the field. He was up to the fourth position by the 12th circuit. Brown felt that he had a car that was capable of taking the win and was determined to make his way to the front, until he got caught up in a scramble in the front of the pack. He found himself once again fighting an ill handling car, but used his talented driving skills to hold his fourth place position until he crossed the checkered on lap 50.

“I am not at all pleased with 10th and 4th place finishes in Saturday night’s races. My team and I will worker harder to perform better. We’re not giving up; we’re going to go back ready to try to win the twin 25 races on Saturday.” stated Brown.

Aside from the less than desired results of the night, Brown and his crew stayed focused on making the car better and finishing the best they could. As we get closer to the end of the season, the team is working harder than ever to make the No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified the best that it can be. Until the checkered flag falls in the last race of the season, they will continue to chase wins, as well as the championship.

Brown back in Victory Lane after a Wild Night at The Madhouse

After a race that was nothing short of exciting, Tim Brown piloted his No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified to its 3rd victory of the season in the Great Clips 100 at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night.

The Cana, V.A. native moved up one spot to second in the point standings following his win on double points night. With 6 races remaining in the 2010 season, he sits 55 markers behind point leader, Burt Myers.

Brown proved what a strong car he had in both the morning and evening practices. Later that evening, he collected his 6th pole of the season after touring the famed quarter mile in 13.409 seconds. Brown drew seventh in the full field redraw.

The fans were on their feet to greet the starting line up shortly before 9:00 p.m. Brown lined up to start fifth after two cars that were set to start at the front of the field did not. The Rocket didn’t waste any time showing the potential the No. 83 Rahmoc powered modified had as he immediately clinched fourth position on the first circuit. It was only a matter of nine circuits before the event’s first yellow flag was waved. As the field came around to the cone for the double file restart, Brown lined up on the outside row in fourth position, and quickly closed in on third after taking the green.

Brown maintained third throughout several more cautions. Just past the halfway point of the race, he lined up on the outside of the No. 53 of Jonathan Brown on the front row for a restart. After two more cautions, and battling with the No. 53 and the No. 79 of Teddy Christopher, Brown seized the lead. The closing laps were hard fought by The Rocket, and on lap 104 he took the checkered in first position.

“I told all of my sponsors and all of my fans that we, as a race team, would work hard to get back in victory lane. We worked hard as usual and things went our way tonight. We had a great race car, sat on the pole, and won the race. Thank you all for your continued support.” stated The Rocket.

Brown and crew were very happy to see their luck make a turn on Saturday. As the season progresses, they will continue to keep their eye on the prize. The Rocket will be back on Saturday for the two 25 lap events to try to capture his 7th pole and another victory!

Brown Finishes 6th, 7th in Twin 25 Races

After fighting an ill-handling car in both 25 lap events on Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium, Tim Brown was only able to pilot the No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified to 6th and 7th place finishes.

The less-than-desired results put Brown a few more points behind in the standings, yet maintaining the 3rd spot.

The series of unlucky events that plagued the No. 83’s evening began in first practice when he felt the car was too loose. The Brown Motorsports crew made some adjustments to the car, and later that evening Brown landed a 3rd place starting position after posting a time of 13.506 seconds in qualifying.

As the sun was setting, hot and humid temperatures remained to greet the starting line up for the first 25 lap race. Misfortune struck early as Brown began to fall back through the field in the opening few laps. Trying to hold on to fourth position, the No. 23 of Brian Loftin made contact with Brown, quickly sending him back to fifth place. The Rocket, struggling with the handling of his modified, radioed to his crew that the car was loose and needed adjustments before the next race. Over the closing circuits, Brown battled with the No. 53 of Jonathan Brown for fifth position before having to close in on sixth, where he remained until crossing the checkered on lap 25.

When 8th was drawn for the Madhouse Scramble, Brown was set to start third in the second 25 lap race. As the green flag was displayed, Brown found himself instantly battling with the No. 40 of Brad Robbins for second position, before being locked in on it by lap 3. Only three circuits later, the event’s first yellow flag was waved.. As the field came around to take the green flag once again, Brown, still in second, closed in, focused on trying to make his way to the lead. However, he quickly found that the handling of his car had not improved from the previous race, and began losing ground. After a few more circuits, the No. 53 of Jonathan Brown made contact with Brown, knocking him out of the groove. Fighting for every position throughout the final series of laps, Brown piloted the No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified to a 7th place finish.

“I expect more from myself and my team, and will work harder than ever to put the Hayes Jewelers Chevrolet back in victory lane soon. I want to thank all my fans for standing behind me through this season, for it has not gone as well as planned. I set very high goals for myself and my team, and will continue to do so. Five poles and two wins out of eight weeks of racing still is not good enough for me, we must do better.” stated Brown.

Although it hasn’t been the season Brown had hoped for, he won’t give up. The Rocket will return to the Madhouse on July 10 for the Great Clips 100 to try to rally his way to another victory!

Brown Coasts to Second Place Finish in the Renegade 100

Seems as though luck has made a turn for the better for Cana, V.A. native, Tim Brown, after he earned his 5th pole of the season and came in with a second place finish in the Renegade 100 on Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium.

The evening began on a high note when Brown put the No.83 Hayes Jewelers modified on the pole for the 5th time of the 2010 season after touring the famed quarter mile in 13.433 seconds. After a redraw for the 25 car field, Brown was set to start on the outside of the third row in 6th position.

The fans were on their feet to greet the starting lineup shortly after 8:45 p.m. As the field came around to the green flag they made it one lap before the caution filled race began, bringing out the first yellow flag of the event. The Rocket displayed his driving skills as he was able to miss the wreck, making his way up to the fourth position. As the green flag waved once again, Brown was quickly trying to move into third when the caution flag fell again after only one more circuit, leaving him in fourth place. Throughout the next several cautions, Brown continued to take the outside row on the restarts and made his way up to the second position by lap 23.

Over the next 44 circuits he was able to hold on to second position, striving to take the lead from the No. 4 of Jason Myers on every restart. As he and Myers came around to take the green flag after a caution on lap 67, they battled side by side for several laps, until finally Brown closed in on the second position once again. As the laps were ticking by, Brown continued to stay closed in on Myers in order to attempt to take the lead. However, with only 20 laps to go he radioed to his crew that there were problems with the car, and he would have to ride it out the remainder of the race. Maintaining his position over the closing laps, Brown crossed the checkered in an impressive second place.

The solid finish for Brown moved him up to the third position in the point standings.

“I am somewhat pleased with the race tonight after we have been caught up in wrecks for the past several races. Second place is a decent rebound. The car was great and the guys have done an awesome job repairing it time after time this season. Hopefully our luck is turning the corner for the better. I am so proud of my fans, my sponsors, and the team for continued support and fast race cars. We as a team will work harder to get the blue 83 Hayes Jewelers car back in victory lane.” stated an optimistic Brown.

Now at the halfway point in the season, things are looking up for the Brown Motorsports crew. With each passing week, they will continue to perfect the car and go attempt to win the race every Saturday. Though not where they hoped to be at this point in the season, Brown and his crew will continue to keep their eye on the prize: The championship! Don’t miss the two 25 lap races at the Madhouse this Saturday, June 26!

Misfortune Comes in Pairs for Brown, Brown Motorsports Crew

Tim Brown and the Brown Motorsports crew encountered various setbacks throughout Saturday’s series of events before coming in less-than-desired 15th and 9th place finishes in the two 25 lap events at Bowman Gray Stadium.

With a fast car in both evening practices, things were looking up for The Rocket. Unfortunately, an out of the ordinary qualifying lap for Brown that posted a time of 13.769 seconds placed him to start 17th in the first 25 lap race.

Although Brown maintained fourth position in the point standings, he is closing in on third, a mere 6 points behind the No. 11 car of Zach Brewer.

In the opening laps of the first race, Brown quickly gained positions and made his way up to 14th before the first yellow flag of the event. Although, still far from where he wanted to be, he was satisfied with the handling of the car and stayed focused on making his way through the field. The Rocket wasted no time moving into 13th position on the restart and maintained it through another caution and several more circuits. However, after taking the white flag misfortune struck and he got tangled up in a wreck with there being no where to go, sending him back to 17th place. Brown was able to avoid yet another wreck after the white flag was waved again and crossed the checkered in 15th place.

Lee Jeffreys, winner of the first race, drew 10th for the “Madhouse Scramble”, thus leaving Brown to start 15th in the second race. The green flag waved shortly after 10:15 p.m. Avoiding all wrecks throughout the caution filled race, The Rocket piloted his No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified to a 9th place finish.

“We haven’t had the year we had hoped for so far, but I would like to thank all my fans for still coming out and cheering us on every week, as well as my sponsors and crew for their continued support through these tough times. We’re going to keep pushing forward and try to get the blue 83 back in victory lane this weekend.” stated Brown.

Despite having had an unlucky few weeks, Brown and crew are focused on going back to the Madhouse this Saturday and trying to win the Renegade 100!
